Seared Ahi-Tuna Steak with Garden Salad

Ingredients

Tuna Steak:

  • 2 (113g-170g) ahi tuna steaks

  • Kosher salt and freshly ground black pepper

  • 2 tbsp toasted black sesame seeds

  • 2 tbsp toasted white sesame seeds

  • 1 tbsp vegetable oil


Dressing:

  • Juice 1 lime (about 3 tbsp)

  • 2 tbsp extra virgin olive oil

  • 2 tsp toasted sesame oil

  • 2 tsp freshly grated ginger

  • 1 tsp honey


Salad:

  • 4 cups loosely packed arugula

  • ½ of an Asian pear, thinly sliced

  • 2 radishes, thinly sliced

  • 1 mini cucumber, thinly sliced

Preparation

Grill/Griddle


  1. Season tuna steaks all over with salt and pepper. In a shallow plate, combine black and white sesame seeds and gently press tuna steaks into seeds to coat them on all sides.

  2. Place Grill/Griddle plate on Cooker and touch the STEAK button. Touch the - / + to adjust desired temperature.

  3. Heat oil until hot. Add tuna steaks and sear for 30-60 seconds per side, depending on desired doneness. Transfer to clean cutting board.

  4. To make salad: In a medium bowl, whisk together dressing ingredients. Season with salt and pepper.

  5. In a large bowl, combine all salad ingredients. Add dressing and toss gently. Slice tuna.

  6. Divide salad between plates and top with tuna. Serve.
